About this Course

Explore the powerful role media plays in shaping identity, relationships, civic life, and personal well-being. Through critical analysis of social media platforms, digital storytelling, and contemporary case studies, you'll examine how algorithms, influencers, news feeds, and networked communities shape how we see ourselves and others.

Blending media literacy, reflective writing, and collaborative discussion, the course invites you to analyze your own digital habits, evaluate credibility and representation, and consider ethical participation in online spaces.

This First-Year Experience course also supports your academic transition by strengthening discussion, writing, and critical thinking skills while fostering meaningful community and thoughtful engagement with the digital world we inhabit.
