24/7 Security Services
Campus Security officers patrol campus 24/7, conduct regular building checks, and respond quickly to emergencies and safety concerns. They also maintain campus alert systems and coordinate with local emergency services when needed.
Services include:
- Response for severe weather incidents, medical situations, and safety concerns
- Oversight of campus policies (including weapons, vandalism, and trespassing)
- Compliance with fire safety standards set by the Illinois State Fire Marshal
- Operation of campus-wide safety and alert systems
Controlled Campus Access
Principia’s single-entry campus adds a level of protection not found at most colleges. The main entrance is staffed by a Security Officer to help ensure that only authorized individuals and vehicles enter. Vehicles without a registered campus decal are stopped and verified.
Residence halls also support campus safety with:
- Key-card access to exterior doors
- Locked room doors and personal storage
- Integrated fire detection and alarm systems
- Resident Coordinators who live in each house and provide support
