Overview
What Sets Principia College Apart?
Within the global studies major, international experiences are key and required of each student. Our faculty will work with you to find the right fit, whether that be a study abroad, independent travel, or an internship. Throughout this experience, you’ll gain intercultural competence, develop transferable skills, make connections between nations and peoples, and identify trends that shape our lives.
Global studies majors also complete a Global Citizenship Project, which is an independent, student-designed project resulting in growth in knowledge, attitudes, and skills associated with global citizenship. Recent projects have included interviewing refugees and relevant service providers to learn about what is and isn’t working in terms of services for refugees, research to better understand immigration, and the performance of a one-woman-show about the conflict in the Kashmir region of India. Throughout the project, you’ll learn to communicate and work across disciplinary boundaries, build leadership skills, and apply knowledge which will benefit you in future studies and careers.
