Sara McDaniel Wienecke

In her graduate work, Sara Wienecke studied fiction writing, poetry writing, African American literature, and late nineteenth-century through early-twentieth century American literature. For her master's thesis, she wrote a collection of short stories and poetry entitled, "Art of a Single Woman." Aside from teaching literature and creative writing classes in her area of study, Wienecke is committed to connecting students to a broader community by bringing in visiting writers and taking students to off-campus readings. For several years, she has also led or co-led trips for students to the Association of Writers and Writing Programs Conference. Wienecke is the faculty advisor for the Friends of English student club, which hosts off-campus and on-campus literary events.
