Marshall Brooks Library and The George A. Radford Classroom Building

Description:

Who do you see as “the other”? And when have you been the other yourself?

For nearly 25 years, photographer Daniel Epstein has traveled to more than 30 countries, photographing 500 people and asking each about their spiritual journey. Hung side by side, their portraits make a quiet case that we are all on the same journey, and that there is no “other.”

Curated by Rev. Gina Alicea, director of the Corvus Gallery at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, Portraits in Faith: Seeing the Other premiered in Chicago in 2023 and went on to a 10-month run at the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville. Now it comes to Principia, on view October 1 through December 1 in the Marshall Brooks Library and Radford Hall.

The exhibition is free and open to the public during regular library hours and from 8 a.m.–8 p.m until December 1. in The George A. Radford Classroom Building.
