The discovery of tusk remains on the College campus has captured media attention. Dr. Andrew Martin, sociology and anthropology professor, recently sat down with Elaine Cha of St. Louis On the Air, to share details of the finding. Dr. Martin speaks to how the mammoth—or mastodon—remains were discovered, confirmed, and where to go from here. He also expounds upon what there is left to uncover and how the excavation will be incorporated into future classes, allowing students the unique opportunity of executing archeological fieldwork on campus.
