Music / Music Technology

Music celebrates all of us, acknowledging our uniqueness and connectedness. Our department’s safe and supportive environment prepares you find your God-given confidence — to uncover and share your limitless spiritual abilities.

Whether you would like to pursue a bachelor’s degree or minor in music, or join one of our vocal or instrumental ensembles, you are invited to participate regardless of your field of study. In fact, more than half of students enrolled in ensembles at Principia are not music majors or minors.

Majors and non-majors explore a wide range of musical activities such as instrumental and vocal performance (solo and ensemble opportunities in classical, jazz, and world music), music history, music theory, composition, and music production classes in our recording studio.

Our music degrees offer a foundation of classes, ensembles, and lessons, with three areas of concentration: music production, music performance, and general music studies.

Study-Abroad Programs

Principia study-abroad programs are open to all students, and you’re encouraged to apply to any abroad program that interests you—even if the abroad isn’t your primary area of study. Your passport to international learning starts here—Principia College Study Abroad.
