Phase 2: First Year Experience (FYE)

First Year Experience:  Academic Writing

FYE classes introduce the fundamentals of academic writing in the context of a content area.  Building upon the pre-fall writing seminar, FYE classes incorporate writing as a vehicle for learning.  The type and quantity of writing assigned and the way in which it is integrated into the content varies from program to program.  However, all programs are committed to introducing thesis writing and library research and documentation conventions (including an annotated bibliography), and to addressing issues related to plagiarism.
