"Like all art, music requires sharing. Performing has its own kind of rewards, but the gentle guidance of another's pursuit of a dream, as they make their own discovery of value, worth, and purpose, is a humbling and exalting art in itself. And there's no greater self-learning than that found in teaching."

Wendy Reynolds teaches Applied Voice and Piano Proficiency, along with general education classes such as Musical Theatre and Opera. She also directs the College Choir and collaborates with the Theatre Department during the College musical production.

Scholarly Interests

My interest is continually piqued by observations around the relevance, purpose, and evolution of music in society, its power to contribute to and comment on the world in which it is created, including but not limited to popular song through the ages.

Contributions to Field

  • Writing, producing, directing, and performing in the three-woman show "Duelling Divas: The Battle Begins!" which toured the country for five years
  • Teaching and mentoring dozens of young singers for 20 years, helping many of them begin their professional careers

Publications and Presentations

  • “Life as a Solo Artist,” a master class/lecture/recital at South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, 2013
  • Wings of Healing, a collection of inspirational solos for voice, piano, and cello, with arrangements by Wendy Reynolds, 2002
