Come learn about “Benny,” a 17,500 year old Ice Age mammoth found on the Principia campus.. Visitors can see bones, tusks, and the skull.

Paths of Pioneer Christian Scientists (Cox Auditorium)
Steven Howard and Christopher Tyner of Longyear Museum in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, will share accounts of four pioneers of the Christian Science movement—unique stories relevant to today. They'll examine the historical evidence of how these individuals persevered and achieved while helping Mary Baker Eddy establish her religion and church. This presentation is followed by the opening of a Longyear Museum exhibit in the School of Government, "Imparting a fresh impulse: Preparing the next generation." The exhibit includes photographic portraits of Mrs. Eddy and of eleven of the young students in her last class, held in November 1898.

Pioneer Christian Scientists Exhibit Opening (School of Government Main Floor Lobby)
Longyear Foundation in Chestnut Hill Massachusetts is sponsoring a year-long exhibit of portraits of early Christian Scientists. To kick it off, Longyear personnel will host an opening reception immediately following the talk in Cox Auditorium. Refreshments will be served.

Bird Walk (Flagpole)
Professor Mary Jane Hoff will guide you through Principia’s forest, restored prairie, and river bluff ecosystems for a glimpse of indigenous and migratory bird species. You may see a pileated woodpecker or hear the melodic song of a wood thrush. The walk begins at the flagpole and ends at Howard Center where a steaming hot buffet breakfast awaits you.
