Public Affairs Conference

The Public Affairs Conference (PAC) is the oldest student-led conference in the United States. With a few exceptions, the conference has occurred annually since its inception in 1939.

Throughout the three-day conference, students and other attendees from a wide range of colleges and universities meet in workshops to discuss and propose solutions to current topics such as cyber crime, globalization, terrorism and genetics. Past conferences have focused on peacebuilding, youth empowermentsustainability, and social entrepreneurship.

This year's conference focuses on innovation and was held March 24–26, 2016. Learn more.

Because of my participation with PAC, I had breakfast with Brookings scholar Minxin Pei, I took Yale historian Jonathan Spence to see 'Slumdog Millionaire,' and I drove former Mexican Foreign Minister Jorge Castaneda to the airport at 4:40 in the morning.  I will never forget meeting and talking with these incredible global thinkers.
