Internship Leads to Full-Time Work
July 5, 2016

David McClelland (C’16)
PFME Analyst, Nestlé Purina
During summer 2015, while interning at Nestlé Purina, David worked in the Finance Department, analyzing prepay purchase orders and accrual accounts, building historical files, and testing pricing tools. David’s skills and work ethic caught the attention of company management—toward the end of the summer he was offered a job as a financial analyst upon his graduation in 2016.
The following semester, David traveled on the Japan Abroad, where he learned about international business practices firsthand, researching a Japanese multinational manufacturer of electronics and industrial ceramics for his senior capstone.
“My biggest takeaways from the internship at Nestlé Purina were seeing how important it is to seek new and creative avenues for accomplishing tasks, ask questions when you need clarification, and value a good company culture,” David says.
