Museum

The School of Nations Museum is a resource center containing more than 10,000 cultural and historical artifacts. The collection, with objects dating as far back as 4000 B.C. and from most nations of the world, is housed partly at Principia College and partly in Ridgway Learning Center on the School campus in St. Louis. Students and teachers have access to the collection for study and class presentations. The museum also sponsors cultural programs and exhibits on both campuses.

Thanks to the School of Nations Museum, students in Professor Mike Hamilton’s Living Religions of Asia course have objects associated with Hindu, Buddhist, Shinto, and Taoist religious traditions at their fingertips. “We can view many of them without a glass barrier between us,” Hamilton notes. “The immediacy of the experience is valuable not only to the students but to me.”
