Master Plan Goals

Anderson Hall

“The buildings will appear to have grown into position so that, in the years to come, buildings on campus will become one harmonious, organic unit”. -Bernard Maybeck

What are the goals of the master plan?

  • Produce a master plan which aligns and prioritizes the programmatic requirements of the Academic Core, Student Life, Athletics, and Administrative/Support Services. Consider trimester vs. semester needs
  • Produce a master plan that is based upon principles and an understanding of the original campus planning principles and intent
  • Produce a master plan that is based upon coordination, collaboration and integration
  • Produce a master plan that is dynamic, flexible and responsive to changing conditions
  • Produce a master plan that does not grow the campus square footage …replace or adaptively reuse
  • Produce a master plan that helps to establish a coherent strategy to allocate resources
