The Ernest Vogel Third Reich Collection consists of books and papers formerly in the library of Ernest Vogel. It also includes materials relating to the German political resistance to the Third Reich, including the SPD organizations outside of Germany during this period. A focus of the collection is the life of Hans Vogel, a key leader in the Social Democratic Party and includes personal papers of his son, Ernest Vogel. The collection is housed in a "scholars corner" which provides space for use of the materials in the library.

The David Anderson Collection on the Russian Revolution consists of materials written during the time of the Russian Revolution, including journals, historical and political analysis, and fiction of the period.

The Treasure Room houses the library's rare book collection including incunabula, a first edition of Paradise Lost, a note from Virginia Wolfe, and other literary treasures. The Treasure Room also contains many items relating to the history and study of Christian Science.

The Federal Depository at the Marshall Brooks Library There are approximately 1,350 Federal depository libraries throughout the United States and its territories, at least one in almost every Congressional District. The Marshall Brooks Library at Principia College serves the 19th Congressional District of Illinois. We provide free public access to a wide variety of Federal government information resources in both print and electronic formats, and have expert staff available to assist users. We were designated a depository in 1957 and we currently select less than 10% of the documents published by the Government Printing Office each year. Please feel free to visit or contact us with questions about government documents. The paper documents in the collection are housed on the 5th floor, microfiche and CD-ROM documents are on the 1st floor. The Library Home Page, available on all public terminals, links to several key resources on the Internet and also provides access to the GPO Monthly catalog - a database of government publications. The Archives Department maintains the institutional archives for The Principia, a private educational institution serving preschool through college students, located in St. Louis, Missouri, and Elsah, Illinois.
