"The wonderful and inspiring examples of my own teachers and positive experiences serving as a teaching assistant and visiting faculty member led me to teaching. I love working with and learning from students and witnessing their joy as they discover new insights into biblical texts."
Dr. Barry Huff's area of research and teaching is biblical studies, which has been a consistent focus throughout his undergraduate and graduate education. His master’s thesis probed the connection between creation and theodicy in the book of Job. His dissertation explored how the book of Job engages with and transforms the language and theology found in the priestly texts of the Torah. He spent a term researching his dissertation at Oxford University, and he graduated with distinction from Union Presbyterian Seminary with a PhD in Biblical Studies. He has traveled in Egypt, Jordan, Israel, the Palestinian territories, and Greece. Huff joined the faculty in 2008 and serves as the Moderator of the Principia College Chapter of Theta Alpha Kappa.
