Guest House Reservation Drawing for Commencement

Due to the demand for Principia Guest House accommodations during Commencement and out of fairness to all of our guests, we hold a reservation drawing for parents.

If you are a parent of a graduate and would like to stay at the Guest House during Commencement Weekend 2024, we would love to include your name in our reservation drawing. Please follow these steps:

1. Submit your reservation request by emailing Margaret Sotos at margaret.sotos@principia.edu. Submissions for the drawing begin at 9 a.m. CST, December 8, 2023, and close at 5 p.m. CST, Friday, December 22, 2023.  Parents/Guardians will be notified of the results by December 31.
    
2. Your email should include the following information:
   • Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
   • Your graduate's first and last name
   • Dates you wish to stay at the Guest House
   • Names of those who will be staying in the room with you

Please note:

• Only one room can be requested by each family
• Two-night minimum stay required; last-minute cancellations will result in being charged the full room rate per cancelled night
• Most guest rooms have two beds and will accommodate up to four people. A rollaway bed can be added to some rooms for an additional cost.
• Commencement room rate: $160/night for a single and $10/additional guest, plus an 11% hotel tax (includes a continental breakfast and light afternoon and evening snacks)

All remaining requests will be placed on a waiting list, and these families will be sent an email indicating their placement on the list. If there are cancellations, families will be contacted in the order of their placement on the list.

We recommend that all families on the waiting list make reservations elsewhere to be assured a place to stay during Commencement. You can choose from on-campus accommodations in Gehner House or choose local, off-campus lodging.
