Trish has been a director, an actress, and a professor of theatre for the past 20 years. She received her BA in Theatre from Principia College and then spent five years in St. Louis working as an actress and a director. Some of her favorite work during that time was for Creative Express, a children’s arts organization and theatre which brought afterschool and summer acting programs to students ages 5-17. After those five years in St. Louis, Trish moved to Chicago to pursue her MFA in Directing from the Chicago College of the Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. She then worked professionally in Chicago directing, acting, and teaching at a variety of theatres including Ivanhoe Theatre, Northbrook Theatre, Wisdom Bridge Theatre, and Victory Gardens Theatre. She was also selected by the Illinois Arts Council to work with local area schools as an Artist in Residence. Trish moved back to the St. Louis area in 2000 and has been an Associate Professor of Theatre at Principia College for the past twelve years teaching courses in Acting, Directing, Voice, Movement, Oral Interpretation, and her specialty, the Michael Chekhov Acting technique.
Trish is a proud founding member of The Moving Dock Theatre Company, a Chicago-based theatre dedicated to the development of the actor through the Chekhov technique. She is also a member of MICHA and The College Theatre Council of Great St. Louis. She has been a Wise Write judge for the St. Louis Repertory Theatre and has been a respondent for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for several years. Trish also works as a private acting coach preparing actors for theater, commercial, and film auditions.
