Catherine Hooper began teaching at Principia College as a visiting instructor of statistics in the Business Administration Department in the fall of 1995 and continued as a visiting instructor in the Mathematics and Business Administration Departments through spring of 2000. In fall of 2000 she became a full time professor in both departments. She is currently teaching only for the Mathematics Department and also serves as Director of the Math Learning Center. Before joining the Principia faculty, Professor Hooper taught mathematics at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and mathematics and statistics at Lewis and Clark Community College.

Hooper’s main areas of interest are mathematics education, modern algebra, astronomy, statistics, and history of mathematics.
