A member of the College staff since 1990, Karen worked for the PACE (Principia Adult Continuing Education) office for two years before moving to the Principia Abroad office where she coordinated with faculty and staff in administering the College undergraduate travel study programs for more than fifteen years. In 2007, Karen moved to the position of College business manager. In 2009, Karen assumed the position of Dean of Administration at Principia College, overseeing the budget and rental housing program, as well as the human resources office, dining services, mail and copy services, the Principia Guest House, and private enterprise activities on the College campus.
Karen earned her BA in political science from Principia College, participating in Principia Abroad programs to Italy, East Africa, and Washington, DC. She also served as the adult resident counselor for the Vietnam, China, and Tibet Abroad and the China and Mongolia Abroad.
Karen is a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers and the Society for Human Resource Management.
