Sponsorship Terms and Conditions

By submitting this application, I understand that I am offering to sponsor at my place of business a Principia College student during the school’s Externship Program, March 14-18, 2011. I have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions and am pleased to be considered as a possible sponsor.
I understand that the dates for this program are fixed, and that either I will be available to supervise the extern personally during the period of March 14-18, 2011, or I will make arrangements to have someone else available to do this.
I understand that if my application is accepted, I will be notified by Principia within two weeks of submission and that I will be notified not later than February 15, 2011, regarding the specific student who will be participating at my business/organization. If my application cannot be accepted, I understand I also will be notified within two weeks of submission.
As an Extern Sponsor, I understand that I will be asked to provide my assigned Extern Student with opportunities such as:
- Tour of business premises, along with explanations of business practices
- Introductions to appropriate individuals
- Visits to clients, vendors, subsidiaries, etc. (as appropriate)
- Opportunities to observe internal/external meetings, conferences, etc. (as appropriate)
- Opportunities to meet one-on-one with various individuals to understand more fully their personal and departmental roles within the business
- Other briefings, appointments, meetings, introductions, etc. that will help make the Extern’s visit worthwhile
As an Extern Sponsor, I understand that I am NOT responsible for providing my assigned Extern Student with the following:
- Transportation to/from my place of business
- Housing or meals
- Entertainment or activities outside normal business hours
- Salary or stipend of any kind
I agree that my assigned Extern will be considered a visitor at my business/organization. Any work tasks the Extern is asked to complete will be brief, learning-oriented takes, not tasks that normally are performed by paid employees.
I understand that the Extern Student will be expected to be present during normal business hours for the entire extern period, unless other arrangements are made in advance.
I understand that Principia Extern Students are Christian Scientists. Neither I nor my company will ask or invite them to participate in activities that are not in keeping with the Code of Conduct to which all Principia Students have agreed.
