Democracy and Human Rights in Russia
Oleg Kozlovsky is a Russian pro-democracy activist the former Moscow Press Secretary of Amnesty International. In 2005, he co-founded the Oborona (“Defense”) youth movement, which seeks to establish democracy in Russia through non-violent civil resistance. Despite having been arrested several times for his protest activities, Kozlovsky continues to organize peaceful demonstrations and was the recipient of the prestigious Human Rights First Award in October 2008.
