Born in South Africa, Lara Logan currently operates from the United States as the chief foreign affairs correspondent for CBS News. She is also a correspondent for CBS's 60 Minutes. In February, CBS News reported that Logan was sexually assaulted while covering the celebrations in Cairo following Hosni Mubarak’s resignation. In subsequent interviews, she shared her story in order to shed light on sexual assault in Egypt and violence against women reporters. The Vogel Moral Courage Speaker Series invites audience members to consider the courage required of members of the press who risk their lives to provide accurate and necessary news to the world.
