Financial aid from Principia is usually a combination of grant and loan. Each grant is a gift and does not have to be repaid. Each low-interest loan (5%) is payable over 10 years, beginning nine months after graduation or withdrawal from college.
In addition to need-based assistance, merit scholarships of $4,500 to full tuition are awarded each year to dozens of students who qualify.
Since Principia does not participate in any of the Federal student aid programs, the FAFSA is not required. Eligibility for a Federal Pell Grant can be determined by information submitted on the PROFILE Application. If you qualify for either of these Federal programs, Principia will provide you with an award from private institutional (Principia) funds instead of from Federal funds.
Part-time jobs are available to students to help offset expenses other than tuition. Our student employment office is here to help you find and apply for positions in departments and offices of the College.
