New international students must arrive in August at the start of the academic year. Send the following to Principia College’s Office of Admissions by January 15, 2013 . You will find step-by-step instructions on these web pages.
A completed application for admission
A copy of your academic credentials from secondary school and from any post-secondary schooling you have completed.
1 academic reference from a teacher in a core academic subject. This must be received directly from the teacher and may not be handled by the applicant.
2 Christian Science references from Christian Scientists who know you well enough to tell us about your understanding and practice of Christian Science. One reference should be from your Sunday school teacher, if applicable. These also must be received directly from references and may not be handled by the applicant.
SAT results, which should be received directly from College Board
TOEFL results, if required
A Certification of Finances form to confirm your available funds
A Financial Aid application
Preparedness to pay for expenses not covered by financial aid (see below)
From the time you make your first inquiry to the Admissions Office to the time you are granted a visa requires the better part of a year. SO START EARLY!
The International Admissions Counselor will be your contact in the Admissions Office and will help you with the application process. You can contact the Counselor at intladmissions@prin.edu.
First confirm that you are eligible to apply. You must have been an active Christian Scientist for a minimum of six months before we can accept your application.
Financial aid awards are based on demonstrated financial need, which is determined from information about the student and his/her family's income, assets, and expenses. Financial aid is available to both one-year Enrichment and four-year Degree candidates.
Principia is a private college, so more expensive than a public institution. If you are a committed Christian Scientist and Principia is your college of choice, do not automatically assume you cannot afford a Principia education. Generous financial aid options are available. This aid is applied to tuition, room, and board. But there are some additional expenses you must be prepared to assume – expenses you incur when you choose to attend a school in another country:
Passport application fee for your country
Visa interview fee of $140
SEVIS fee of $200 (Degree students) or $180 (Enrichment students)
Airfare to St. Louis, Missouri
