Kirill Kudaev (C’19)

COMPUTER SCIENCE
iOS Engineer, Ancestry

“The Computer Science program at Principia is very strong.”

Kirill speaks from experience. He transferred to Principia College from a university in Russia where he was studying applied mathematics. Before graduating two years later, he had developed three of his own mobile applications, one of which had 20,000 active monthly users.

But it wasn’t just his courses that prepared Kirill to master software development. He honed his skills as part of the Principia Mobile App and Virtual Reality Club, which allowed him to go beyond class work and pursue specific technologies.

“I think it’s very specific to Principia to have that kind of sponsorship where you can build your own club and have a group of people pursue their specific dreams.”

Kirill worked closely with the Career Center early on to develop his résumé, create a professional LinkedIn profile, and gain support in applying for an internship. Through that, he was connected with a Principia alum who offered him a web development position in his company. It also turned out to be a great way to get the experience that larger tech companies were looking for.

Kirill received multiple offers for a second internship. He selected Ancestry because of the strength of its intern program, which eventually led to a full-time job offer. He now works with an international team building iOS applications and developing software.

In addition to the variety of experiences Principia offered him, Kirill values the support he received from his professors  and the metaphysical environment that was foundational to everything.

Must-Take Courses: Hardware Architecture, Management, Marketing

Favorite Principia Moment: Getting virtual reality set up as part of the Principia Mobile App Club and VR Club.
