Lee Ellis assumed the position of athletic director in 2008, after more than a decade of service in key roles, including associate athletic director and associate professor. Head coach of the women’s soccer team since 1996, Ellis is continuing his coaching and teaching responsibilities while serving as athletic director.

 
A renowned coach, Ellis has been named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Coach of the Year six times, and his teams have won the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for more than a decade now. They have also been recognized repeatedly for sportsmanship and ethical conduct by both SLIAC and NSCAA.
 
Ellis earned his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Fredonia and two graduate degrees in education from the University at Albany–SUNY. He also holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and in 2007 he completed the Executive Program of the Sports Management Institute. A leader within women’s soccer, Ellis chairs the SLIAC Women’s Soccer Committee and recently began a four-year term on the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Committee.
