All Community Members Requested to Share Spring Break Travel Plans

March 10, 2020

John Williams
Interim College President

As we continue to adapt to developments around the world related to Covid-19, we have at the forefront of our mind a desire to love our neighbor. Exercising wisdom and taking practical steps is not only good for us, it is good for all.

This message is to update the community on the activities of the College in response to Covid-19. As discussed in previous announcements on February 17 and March 5, the administrative team meets twice a week to respond to Covid-19, along with reviewing our institutional response plan. In addition to last week’s Watercooler announcement, we sent an email on Friday, March 6 to parents letting them know of the plans we were making.

Given that there are certain areas of the world where Covid-19 seems more prevalent, we are requesting that everyone in the community inform us where they will be during spring break. We are hoping everyone completes this form, even if you are planning to stay in Elsah. This registry will help us plan should preventative measures escalate in certain regions.

To help Principia College be proactive with Covid-19 prevention, please complete this travel registry.

Faculty and RCs are being asked to reach out to students today and tomorrow, to encourage them to complete the registry form ASAP. A School Messenger announcement will also go out to the community via text and phone message with a link to the registration form.

On Thursday at noon, we will begin to reach out to students, faculty, and staff who haven’t completed the form, requesting that they complete it before spring break begins.

Thank you for participating in this registry. We appreciate your support for keeping Principia prepared.
